New Librarian Position at Aurora Medical Center-Grafton
The Aurora Health Care Libraries at their new Aurora Medical Center, Grafton location at I-43 and Hwy 60 seek an enthusiastic and service-oriented full time Librarian to join their team.
The new Resource Center Library is a 920 sq. ft. library, part of an integrated library system of seven Aurora Libraries and 15 library staff serving 15 hospitals, 29,000 caregivers, 3,600 physicians, and 140 residents. Aurora Health Care is a national leader in developing and implementing best practices in clinical improvement and disease management. The Aurora Libraries web site has over 39,000 hits/month.
Responsibilities: Is the Reference Librarian with primary responsibility for serving health professionals, patients, and community members at the Grafton location. Must enjoy and be effective at teaching use of library resources. Will be responsible for Interlibrary Loan, collection development, and marketing at the Grafton site. Must have a passion for advancing Clinical Librarianship through attending Interdisciplinary rounds, visiting patients referred by nursing staff, or attending Morning Report for interested departments. May be asked to contribute to various hospital committees or projects. Will help create and manage the hospital web site and newsletter.
Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLIS; one year of experience in heath care reference and interlibrary loan preferred; experience with OVID and PubMed MEDLINE and DOCLINE preferred; demonstrated ability to be a team player and effective teacher; proven ability to provide excellent service; excellent written and verbal communication skills; up-to-date technology skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web design, Internet searching, and Web 2.0.
