LIAISON / INFORMATION SPECIALIST
The Health Sciences Libraries at the University of Minnesota are developing a new model of liaison support for the six health professions schools and the interdisciplinary centers and programs of the University's Academic Health Center. We are fostering the role of "informationist" to couple domain knowledge with information management expertise embedded into our users' environment, both physically and virtually and are looking for an individual to join our highly collaborative team.
We seek an innovative, energetic, service-oriented professional who has both subject knowledge in the health professions or the sciences, and information management expertise to support the patient care, research, knowledge management and instructional and life-long learning needs of health professions and graduate students, faculty and staff. This individual will be expected to forge new relationships and create new initiatives that respond to trends in patient care and clinical information, scientific, interdisciplinary, and clinical research, including exploring with faculty new models of scholarly communication, publishing, and the challenges of data curation. The successful candidate will also contribute to the profession, and is expected to pursue scholarly research of his/her own, or as a member of health science research teams.
