Salary: $45,000-$49,000

Essential Job Functions:
• Provides support for development and maintenance of library technologies
• Responsible for operation and continued enhancement of integrated library system (SirsiDynix Symphony)
• Responsible for writing or customizing ILS reports
• Identifies and fixes hardware, software and network problems in the Library
• Participates in planning and budgeting for technology
• Assesses/recommends new products and services
• Designs and maintains web pages
• Investigates and creates Web 2.0 and other Internet tools to support the Library's mission
• Trains and advises staff, faculty, and students regarding information technology
• Creates procedures and training materials for system administration, circulation, acquisitions, inventory, reserves and cataloging functions
• Serves as liaison to vendors and Information Systems Department
• Catalogs and classifies books and other materials utilizing AACR2 rules and LC Classification
• Enters records into OCLC and SirsiDynix Symphony
• Acquires new materials from appropriate vendors
• Participates in selection of new materials

Marginal Functions:
• Reviews new VisionCite keywords for accuracy in data entry and corrects errors
• Edits VisionCite entries and indexes articles for VisionCite data entry. VisionCite is a citation index created by ICO of published articles related to optometry.
• Provides reference and research assistance to the ICO community
• Performs the essential functions of the Public Services and Serials/Indexing Librarian and the Library Clerks
• Supervises the annual inventory
• Supervises work study students
• Prepares and processes materials for binding
• Compiles statistics required for reports and evaluation of collection and services
• Provides daily interlibrary loan services as needed
• Other job related duties as assigned by the Director of Learning Resources

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Masters Degree in Library Science or related degree
• Two years of professional experience in technical services or computer services
• Significant experience with integrated library systems or directly related systems
• Knowledge of microcomputer operating systems and networking software
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Strong service orientation
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple priorities
• Experience developing Web applications and in web design
• Basic knowledge of and competence in librarianship at the professional level with special reference to cataloging, classification, acquisition, and other phases of technical services
• Experience with CONTENTdm or another digital collection management software
• Attendance must be in accordance with College policy
• Ability to meet deadlines regardless of circumstances or pressures
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Hours: Monday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
