Event at Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center

Metronet Wind Down at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center

We all want to do what we can for the approximately 400,000 Veterans in Minnesota. About one third of Minnesota's Veterans are enrolled as patients in the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. Public, academic, and special libraries can help to publicize programs and resources available to Veterans and their families and friends who may not be aware of them.

This Wind Down will give you an opportunity to learn more about the VA and the services and programs available to Veterans. Participants will see the Medical Library and Patient Education Center and get a brief tour of the facility, one of the largest VA Medical Centers in the nation. There will be brief presentations on MyHealtheVet, a website and patient portal with a large online library of health-related materials, the Homeless Veterans Program, the VA's Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention program, women's Veterans services, programs and services for returning Veterans, and services to transgender/transitioning Veterans.

Date: Thursday, January 24, 2013

Time: 3:30-5:00 p.m.
