E-Books from the University Libraires

More and more people are using devices like the Kindle, Nook, or iPad to read electronic books. The University of Minnesota Libraries have many vendors for e-book content and now there is a web page which describes the content and whether or not one can use these devices to view these titles.

The E-Book collections page is available here.

2 Universities Face Copyright Lawsuits by Publishers

There are two very interesting cases that pertain to academic institutions and their use of materials for teaching and learning that are making their way through the legal system.

New Redesign of Bio-Med Web Site

The staff of the Health Sciences Libraries has been engaged in a redesign of the Bio-Medical Library web site. The beta version of the new site is now available at: http://www.hsl.lib.umn.edu/biomed

The current site for the Bio-Medical Library will remain live until March 16, 2011, when the new site replaces it.

Our new site retains many of the features that users have come to rely on such as quick links to commonly-used resources such as Ovid Medline and Micromedex, but a simpler, more cohesive design makes accessing library resources and services easier than ever before.

We invite you to visit the new site and send us your feedback at:
