New Redesign of Bio-Med Web Site

The staff of the Health Sciences Libraries has been engaged in a redesign of the Bio-Medical Library web site. The beta version of the new site is now available at:

The current site for the Bio-Medical Library will remain live until March 16, 2011, when the new site replaces it.

Our new site retains many of the features that users have come to rely on such as quick links to commonly-used resources such as Ovid Medline and Micromedex, but a simpler, more cohesive design makes accessing library resources and services easier than ever before.

We invite you to visit the new site and send us your feedback at:

Orientation to Resources for Research in Public Health

I have created a short video that provides an orientation to resources for doing public health research that are available from the Bio-Medical Library's home page.

Please feel free to share this link with students via your WebVista or Moodle site. It's a quick introduction to getting started on a research project with a final focus on contacting me if students have questions.

U Libraries Magazine Focuses on Health

The University of Minnesota Libraries publishes an annual magazine entitled Continuum. The latest issue is now available and features articles about the role Bio-Medical Library staff play in shaping health care reform, as well as an article about Owen Wangensteen's legacy and how knowledge of the past can inform the future work of the next generation of health care providers.

The Continuum is available online or if you'd like a print copy, please contact me and we'll get one mailed out to you.
