You may have recently seen an email invitation to an upcoming workshop on copyright with Kenny Crews. Mr. Crews is a nationally-known expert on copyright and is very interested in what has been happening here at the U regarding copyright issues.
I'm writing today to encourage you to attend this workshop if you can. Here's some quick highlights:
*It's short - only 2 hours
*You will get concrete ideas on how to increase the visibility of/acces to your work while still retaining ownership
*You will find out how the U's new copyright policy (approved by the Regents in 2007) applies to you
*You will be able to discuss these issues with faculty from across the campus
*Attendance satisfies the Awareness/Discussion component of the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) continuing ed requirement
*And --- refreshments will be served!
