An essay about Andy Warhol
December 6th 2008
Andy Warhol is an American artist who was a prominent figure in the Pop-Art movement in the United States. He contributed a new aspect to art; replication of pieces and displaying them in a certain way to achieve a more direct feel. His art, some of which was reproductions of popular culture images, struck many people because of how new and unique it was.
Warhol did not always do the work himself. For many of his works, he had a workshop which people would reprint his things for him. Most of the credit was given to Warhol, and many people do not even know that he was not the creator of some of it.
His work really went along with his idea of 15 minutes of fame, a concept which he came up with.
