The Recreation Centers have a free program called Rec Check where
volunteers commit to come in regularly/weekly to provide environmental programming after school anytime between 2:30 and 6:00 p.m. (This program may become compatible with the new Jr. Master Naturalists program Master Naturalists is piloting).

This school year there are 'No School Day' volunteer opportunities available on December 28th, 29th, 30th; March 29th, 30th, 31st; and April 1st and 2nd. St. Paul Parks and Recreation can provide the lesson/activity from their curriculum or volunteers can use another lesson/activity they are familiar with. Volunteers commit to at least a single one-hour session. A typical schedule for No School Day programming is as follows:

Grades K-1: 9:00-10:00 a.m. or 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Grades 2-3: 10:00-11:00 a.m. or 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Grades 4-6: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 3:00-4:00 p.m.
