No More Pencils

Finally, skool is over. J graduates next Sunday, the last seminar paper of my graduate career is turned in, undergrad papers have been picked up, spring is in the air. Just a little more paperwork and.. oh.. grading. It should actually not be too bad this time around. I expect the papers to be clever and insightful. Here's hoping that I am right. Since I am putting all that off until the very last moment, that leaves plenty of time for crafting. I made a messenger bag for the plane (socks on 2 circulars planned) as well as a new dress and some goodies for the fam. The dress was cut a little strangely and is not exactly built for comfort and ease. It is, however pretty hot. Also, it has a very very low neckline. This means I will feel much more comfortable wearing it in another country. Good thing that is on the agenda!

I love love love that flower fabric. I made a little envelope wallet and a travel tissue holder with it as well. I'll include them next time with Green Gable progress shots.

Oh wow. I know nothing about clothing, dress-making etc, but I am really enjoying having a look at your blog (I got here from A Dress A Day), and I love this dress! It's sexy, and very flattering. But that bag really grabs my attention! It is just fantastic; I love it. It looks especially great with the fabric. Lovely! If I saw this for sale, I'd grab it in an instant.

Hi! Made it here from Dress a Day. I love the dress that was linked, but I am *burning* to know where you got this lovely flower fabric? I neeeeeeed some! I hope it is available online, and wasn't the last yard on a bolt in a tiny store in rural Japan or something....

Seriously, your orange/red dress is fab, especially with your hair up--you really do look like a Villain Extraordinaire! But in a good way!

I'm afraid the flower fabric came to me courtesy of my friend Taryn who bought it in Taiwan! I wish I had a good source in the US. Cia's Pallette has some cute Japanese prints as does Fabrictales (if a bit more than I want to spend.) Fabricandart.com looks like it has a good selection and then there are all those lovely Etsuko prints coming in at Reprodepot. They are a bit more "modern", but also lovely!

...I have yet to work up the courage to wear the brown dress. I had it all planned for Italy, but it just never came up and it shows a bit more than I am used to showing!!

You look great in the dress, and should have more confidence! You probably just need to get comfortable wearing it. :)

wow! you look great in that dress. . wearing such beautiful dress gives us the idea on how to have confidence. But not only that, comfort also matters. If we are comfortable wearing a dress, then that should make us confident.

Learning how to have confidence will help us how to project ourself especially with other people. Like being comfortable in a dress. Being confident in what we wear makes us look and feel beautiful as well even in the eyes of other people.
