Did Someone Say Baby Shower???

Well, no, they didn't but...

I bought this pattern the other day and thought it would work great for the Sew Retro sew-a-long starting now.

I searched and searched and (several times) thought I had found fabric that would work. I really like Jennifer Paganelli's Girlfriends line, but I had a hard time finding three that went together particularly well. My favorite is a turquoise/garnet toile, but that shall have to wait for another day because I bought these. J thought they looked great and at various times I have too, but I am wavering. I mean, I already ordered them from the interweb and so it is a little late to be backing out now, however, I do have the distinct feeling that I am going to look like a baby shower favor...

I love that fabric combination; the dress will be quite pretty. There are 3 reviews of this pattern on PatternReview.com and the main concern seems to be that the pattern runs large in the bodice. I am working on this dress myself. The fabric for my "muslin" is a Tasmanian Dust Devil print I bought about 15 years or so ago. I found a check in two shades of coral as the contrast fabric. I want to have a gold silk dupioni with Chesapeake Blue dupioni contrast ready for a wedding in Memphis this coming weekend. We shall see.

'Lo Villain, I love your blog! :-)

Anyway, I see what you mean about baby shower, but I don't think you have to worry unless you're going to one (if you fear being mistaken for a gift...). :-P And the fabrics are so pretty! I like the one with the birds and leaves best.

I think the fabrics are cool ;)
Check out the sewingdiva blog, Gigi made a great dress ( or several? ) using this pattern.

Thanks for the tips! I hope I don't have to adjust it too much, but I will be on the lookout...
