Short Stuff

I know I was vague about my feelings toward the new cut...

...but I love it! It's a little Louise Brooks, a little Anna Karina, a little man-I-shouldn't-have-cut-my-bangs-during-PMS. I am excited about all the things I'll be able to do with it. It still feels a little like a dream, like it didn't really happen, but I do not regret my decision. I think it has a lot of potential. Additionally, my skin is really improving! Apparently most of my woes are due to hormone fluctuation and so I got a pill that has the same stuff as in my Yasmin as well as Tazorac and some Benzaclin. That Tazorac is great! I've used Retin-a, Differin, and a host of OTC stuff, and Tazorac is by far the best. My skin texture is sooo much better. I highly recommend it if you are in the market for an acne fix or a skin evener. I didn't even have to Photoshop myself! Amazing!

Craftwise, I cut out a new shirt yesterday, but mostly I've been knitting. Maybe this top will be finished this year...

I've been watching J play Arcanum and knitting flowers for my new Whimsey scarf.

Today is supposed to be a writing day, so I'd better snap to it!!

Cute! Cute! Cute! I love your hair! That's the length I want to grow mine out to. :P

Your hair looks so good! And that flower scarf is adorable! I should learn to knit (I sew and have made that bbw top with the elastic in the neckline--that's how I found your site--I think everyone who has that bbw pattern makes at least 3 of those shirts!!)

It looks great and best of all, you're happy about it ;)

Your new hair ROCKS! :)
I've been reading from afar for some time now (I think I found you through Sew retro?) and just had to comment today.

Three years ago I did the Big Cut and it changed SO many things. I look forward to seeing what you discovered under all that hair. ;)

Now you have an excuse to make all new dresses to match the new hair. Maybe with a 20's flair?

Breaking out of lurkdom...

Hey, there! I've been reading your blog off and on for awhile now and I thought I'd finally break out and post a comment. Btw, I LOVE the haircut!

Basically, the comment you made about your acne clearing up has really peeked my curiosity. I don't have really really bad acne, but for some reason I always have three or four suckers hangin' round and whatever I try, they will never go away. I suppose I should just break down and go visit the doctor, but I don't have insurance. I'd love to try Tazorac, but is it terribly expensive? Sounds like a prescription drug, so maybe I should just break down and visit the doctor. Anyways, sorry for my rambling about acne! Your blog is a lot of fun to read. :)

Hi there Anna

The tazorac was like 25-30 with insurance, so I bet it would be pretty expensive without it. Maybe a daily glycolic acid would work? The benzaclin is pretty nice, but that's just 1/2 benzoyl peroxide and 1/2 antibiotic, so you've got half of it covered at the drugstore (thought the antibiotics are certainly helpful!) I've also had some luck with sulfur products. The Klaron is sulfur based and you can get some sulfur stuff at the drugstore. I think that Clearasil makes an "adult acne" product that has it. So maybe that is a start, though going to the derm is awfully nice. Also, they sometimes give samples :)

Oops... that should have read "haircut" not "haircute" :)

Thanks for the hair love! It is fun so far, though I keep trying to tie it up in a bun... oops!
