In Which a Free Thing is Given Away and also, Wedding Colors are Discussed
First, the free thing. My mom gave me a set of Crystal Palace 10.5 bamboo circulars and since I already have a set of Addis, these are ripe for the picking. First to comment gets 'em. Also, tell me what your favorite color is and I will try to whip up a li'l surprise!
What are everyone's favorite colors? If you got married or had a party or some sort of thing that requires a palette, what did you use?
I am thinking about this scheme. (I need to find a way to import the colors to the blog!) What do you think? It would be easier than the all-dark-plum idea we had or the peacock color scheme. So hard to avoid the pastels in wedding colors.
Also, I taught myself how to make granny squares:

It is not actually uneven; the edge just curls a little. J wants me to make another blanket for the couch in black and cream stripes. It sucks up a lot of yarn, but it's so fast! Next time I order...
Ok off to eat pizza and watch Venture Bros on DVD. See you!

I don't knit, so give the needles to the next person. It is on my "to do" list but who knows when it will make it to the top. In regards to color schemes, I couldn't see them b/c I don't have Flash 9, but am working on installing it. Why not use something you love--like a teacup or painting or fabric and pick your colors from there? I'm going to be a bridesmaid this summer and the colors are kelly green and black. I love that combo. Best of luck!!

Hi there,
no colour scheme on our wedding. I wanted flowers to match my dress (do you call this a buket of flowers? ) Other than that: NONE. Makes live easier. Our wedding witnesses ( no bridesmaides here) and flowerchildren wore what they wanted. Everybody was relaxed that way...

A colour scheme would be very fancy, but more work. We just asked the grooms to wear mainly black & gave them a sprig of flowers (we knew they wore black anyway ... alternative goth type people). For bridesmaids we asked they wear something bought from a local Japanese shop eg an obi (again not too hard). The flowers were sorta Asian/tropical and we had Indonesian music from the gamelan I belong to. I wore a red/black Japanese T-shirt (like, a nice, fitted one) and a skirt with an old kimono panel in it and wide leg trousers underneath. Doesn't have to be complicated or pastel if you don't want.

We had a big difference in bridemaid sizes (less than 0 to 9 months pregnant) - so we went with black dresses - long - whatever they wanted. And then we did red, purple, dark pink and yellow flowers. I loved it. The colors looked amazing with the black dresses.
I wore white - probably shouldn't have ~grin~ but you didn't ask that did you??

Well shoot, I can't believe nobody has spoke up for the circular needles yet, so I'll take them! :)

I think the palette you posted above is perfect- classy and distinctive and fun. (Congratulations, by the way! Just happened on your blog yesterday, and I'm loving every bit of it. Anyone who can work up such beautiful stuff while managing grad school is fab in my book!)
Best of luck with the wedding planning, and hope you enjoyed the Venture Bros. (I haven't seen it in ages, but Dr. Orpheus was my favorite. *grin*)

Well, Bani, it won't be for a while... Just in the preplanning phases, really. It is so much work!!
Megin, I think Dr O is my fave, too! J does a good Monarch impression and my Orpheus is pretty amusing as well. Hee!
