WooHOO!!!!
I was just informed that I got a fellowship for next year!!! Even bigger than this year's.
:D:D:D:D
This makes my life better in so many ways, especially since I might have just accidentally bought a ring on eBay...

Just stumbled across your "blog" while looking for ideas to bead my daughter's wedding gown, and just wanted you to know that I am impressed by several of your efforts.
I absolutely love the red-silk! I do think that the thin sash may be a tad too thin, but without viewing a couple of other choices… You might want to think of using a tad of boning under the breasts, in the lining to offer support in lieu of the interfacing, (I am rather un-fond of interfacing!) The boning would not have to show, and really seems to perk up the fit through the bust and clean down the midriff fit. Just a thought… Of course I have not read through all of your info to see when the wedding is, or your time constraints. I am running to the wire with my efforts as my daughter's wedding in May 24, and the day is looming! I actually found your site while looking for beading ideas for her bodice.
I am in the final stages of making my daughter, Jessa's gown, a quite over the top, 2-piece gown in champagne colored dupioni (sp? can't think right now) silk. I've never used a pattern for making any of my gowns, and so I stress terribly, for hours on end, prior to finally cutting the first piece of silk. This latest gown, used 1 yards of silk in the skirt and 1.5 yards in the bodice, with very little wastage, and Jessa is barely a size 2! Not to mention the 35 yards of tulle and the muslin I choose to use as the muslin. Yes, this is a very full gown, with a laced corset bodice. More traditional I guess, but still…
I would love to show you a few photo's just to get feedback on what you think, sort of nice to hear comments from someone else in the craft, who just might have a clue. (sigh)
If you have any ideas for the beading, I would love to hear them, or any other constructive comments, as well.
Keep at it, and Kudos.
I remain,
ginette

Thanks for the warm wishes! And Ginette, I'd love to see pictures of the gown; it sounds fab! (principia (at) gmail dot com) I can't imagine working without a pattern. You must be a visionary! :D
