Today, the New York Times reported that the Bush Administration is planning to introduce, (either through legislation or more troubling through lack of enforcement) measures that would weaken Sarbanes-Oxley. While no doubht there are increased burdins on business, this is just a bad idea. Amending Sarbanes Oxley to reduce some administrative burdins might be one thing to consider, but gutting Sarbanes Oxley and returning to the Enronian enviroment of the 90s is something that should never happen agian.

The Bush administration should make their proposal BEFORE the election so that the citizens can judge whether this is a "good thing" or a "bad thing".
