It's me in an illustrated world! My avatar was made using a Wacom Tablet. If you haven't ever used one, I would highly suggest it. It is one of the best investments I've made for graphic design so far.
Organization was key for this project. I began by placing a photo of myself in an Illustrator document. Before any illustration was done, I created swatch folders full of the colors of my hair, skin, eyes, and lips. I made separate layers for each as well. Slowly, I layered shapes with a very low opacity over the original image. Eventually, those shapes created depth and covered up the original image.
