And to get you caught up from the previous weekend, I am now the proud Daddy of a little 30GB iPod photo. Wow! I've used it essentially nonstop since I got it. I also got the iPod photo AV cable so we can watch my photo slideshows with the music of my choice on TV. That will come in handy for visiting relatives and friends.
I also got the Apple iPod stereo connection kit with Monster Cable so that I connect my iPod to my stereo system at work. I'm actually glad to go into work now! I also used it to connect my iPod to a boom-box so that we could listen to tunes as we sat by a bonfire Sunday night....a rare beautiful evening this month!
And then the husband guilt factor set in so I took The WifeŽ to Ann Taylor and picked out clothes for her. She loves to be fawned on. I'm good for a few more months now. Gotta keep the WKW (Well Kept Woman) happy.

Now, on to today's little thread.
Today we should see the demise of one Red McCombs and the acension of Zygi Wilf as the new owner of the Vikings. And the jury is out whether that will be a good thing or not.
I know, I know....anyone is better than McCombs. But let's not be too hasty. At least McCombs kept his promise to me to never move the Vikings. And even that promise was getting a little dicey towards the end.
Red also spent the bucks when the team needed improvement. My bitch here is that he did just enough to keep us interested but had it maxed out the cap the Vikes could be sporting a ring or two.
Wilf is saying all the right things currently. The team will stay put....will build a new stadium not necessarily with tax-payer dollars...its all about family....will find a house here....wants to bring a Super Bowl championship. It all sounds great.
But then, he's a fan of a team that has been the Vikings achilles heel the last few years. He is a East coast guy with fly-over-country mentality. He may be more into financial success off the field than team success on.
But as with every previous ownership, they will get a honeymoon period from me. I'm just hoping that Zygi's first season is as wonderful as Red's was....and with a better ending!
If there is a press conference with Zygi this week I will try my best to attend it and bring you some photos.
Again, sorry for the short post. It's now back to that home project.

The "old school" white jersey is one of ugliest in the league (ahead of the Jets, the Bills, and the Titans) The shoulder stripe is putrid, and should be retired forever !! Let's get a style similar to the Falcons, the Broncos, or the new-look Cardinals. Wouldn't a purple uniform with a white and/or gold "swoosh" up the side look awesome !! And bring back the purple pants !! Could you post a poll to see what other fans think ? Look back at the past 10 Super Bowl champs (and losers). You'll see that a majority of them had a radical uniform change that brought some excitement to the team. Pats (3 wins/1 loss), Eagles (loss), Bucs (1 win), Broncos (2 wins), Rams (loss), Giants (loss), 49ers (win), Falcons (loss). Wouldn't it be awesome to see the new-look Vikes be SB champs, instead of seeing the Pats in the Super Bowl for the 7th time ?
