And just so we don't waste an entry, I received a photo showing former head coach Mike Tice at his job serving as Ball Pit Monitor at a local day care. How far the mighty have fallen.

I wish someone would tell me what the "nice" way is to fire someone. Yes, Tice's firing came rather quickly after the last game, but why would it have been nicer to let rumors float around for another day and give Tice another day of false hope?
The whole thing reminds me of when I was in business school. We had a business writing class, and the teacher told us that whenever we had to write a letter letting someone go, we should "soften the blow" by saying what a good employee that person had been. I did it because it was what the teacher wanted, but it struck me as a load of dingo's kidneys then and it still does. If we thought the person was so great, why would we be firing them?
Getting let go always hurts. There's no "nice" way to tell someone they're gone. But it seems to me that if you're going to do it, doing it quickly is better than letting the situation linger. At least that way, Tice knew the situation and could move on.
