a heart with a twist of lemon

memorial day was fun. there was rabbits everywhere. i dropped by the vw dealership to look at some rabbits, GTIs and golfs. i test drove a new gti and it was much quicker than a rabbit. lots of fun.

the middle of the day was full of how you celebrate every holiday, by eating. first there was a holiday bbq with family, then a holiday picnic with friends at lake harriet.

after the picnic, we ventured into the bird sanctuary. it was like watching discovery channel in real life, because we ran into a sly fox. he was a tiny little fellar and he was also celebrating the holidays. with the bottom half of a tasty rabbit, which was bigger than his head. he munched at it a bit before struggling to lift it up, and carry it off.

i went to milwaukee last week, to watch the twins. i love my twins baseball. i also love bowling. and milwaukee happened to have that too. go figure.

the place is called landmark lanes. they're celebrating their 30th birthday, and it seems like they've never changed. you still keep score by hand, and the score table lamps are busted. they have a one armed bouncer, as well as a desk worker with a short temper and an outside voice. it was more bar than bowling alley, as they have 3 seperate bar rooms and prolly less than 20 lanes for bowling. and the only food is nachos or frozen pizzas that they heat up in a little toaster oven. if you've ever been to lee's liquor lounge in minneapolis, it has that sort of feel, only more run down and no elvis souvenir collection. i left the building very satisfied, because the place had character. and my bowling team won both games.

there hasn't been much writing round here lately. i'm going to say it's because of word chomper. he's kind of a variation of the good old number muncher. only he eats words, not numbers. well chomps them rather. and he doesn't hold back like the number muncher did. the number muncher was a picky eater, only eating primes or multiples of 5. word chomper eats every word and letter in sight, kind of like how cookie monster eats cookies. so as soon as i take care of this word chomper, i'll write some more here. until then, expect more pictures and other assorted goodies that can slide by the chomping of word chomper.

when i was a kid, i wanted to be a race car driver. every road was a race track. the concept of speed limits was a foreign concept. so i wanted to know who was setting the pace? what car is out front on the freeway? sometimes i still catch myself pondering the same questions. as i'm driving the speedy punk rock van.
