More clout for corn in Washington
Although it is becoming more and more difficult to defend agricultural subsidies in Washington, a shift in political power in the new Congress will make it considerably easier for Midwestern corn and soybean farmers. Two Midwestern Democrats are now heading the agriculture committees. In another helpful step, President Bush is supporting ethanol production in order to reduce oil consumption by 20 percent.
I could not find a similar article in any other publication.
This is an interesting article and I think the topic is treated fairly. When it could be used to bash Republicans or Congressmen from southern states, it is not. It even shows support for our Republican president.
