Library News from the St. Paul Campus Libraries

CFANS students are now able to check out a new Dell laptop with expanded features. These laptops have all of the software found in CFANS computer labs, as in the past, as well as VPN software to allow work on certain University systems from off-campus. All laptops have DVD +/- RW drives, wireless networking, and the ability to be plugged into a LCD projector for presentations. All laptops have SAS statistical software.

Students can reserve laptops by stopping by or calling these St. Paul libraries: Forestry Library - B50 Skok (624-3222); Entomology, Fisheries and Wildlife Library - 375 Hodson (624-9288) and Plant Pathology - 395 Borlaug (625-9777). The laptops are available for up to one week at no charge to CFANS students who have paid their technology fee.

The EFW Library presents Professor Ralph Holzenthal, Department of Entomology in the first of a series of READ Posters featuring department faculty and staff.

The St. Paul Libraries Poster Project is based on a series begun by the American Library Association in 1985 to promote reading. Some of the world's best-known faces have lent their support to the simple but powerful message: READ! You may have seen these posters in other libraries, featuring such celebrities as Johnny Depp, Stephen Hawking, and Yo-Yo Ma.
