Two Weeks Left to View Seed Stories

A selection of seed catalog posters are on exhibit from the Arboretum exhibit, "Seed Stories: Catalogs of Life and Gardens in America Exhibit."

Vintage-Seed-Catalog-Exhibit.pngSeed and nursery catalogs have long used beautiful images to entice customers. Dozens of selections from Andersen Horticultural Library's rich collection of 57,000 catalogs are a testament to their research value as well as their beauty. Stories of local characters, including three Minneapolis seedswomen, regional pioneers, and colonial innovators give a more intimate look at the life and gardens surrounding these publications.

View it now, as the exhibit will be taken down from the Magrath Library Extended Study Area in the Basement in early November!

Natural Resources Library Grand Opening

Please join us as we celebrate the grand opening of the Natural Resources Library at the University of Minnesota.

When: Wednesday, October 10, 2 to 4 p.m.

Where: Hodson Hall, 1980 Folwell Avenue

Enjoy snacks, drinks, games, and a chance to win prizes.

The Natural Resources Library opened in June, following the merger of the Forestry Library and the Entomology, Fisheries, and Wildlife Library, bringing together two world-class collections.

The new library houses high-use materials from the Forestry and EFW collections. Remaining low-use print materials (many are available electronically) are now housed at Magrath Library or one of the Libraries' facilities.

So, while core print materials will be conveniently located in one place, students and faculty will continue to have access to the same breadth and depth of content as before, either by visiting Magrath Library or using the Get It delivery service.

We look forward to seeing you in the new Natural Resources Library!
