Illustration Friday: Reinvent (2)
Having children is one way, it seems, to attempt to reinvent oneself. And this picture has an additional level of meaning as well: it is a picture of my good friend Linda and her son Aidan as she "reinvented" herself for her new (at the time) faculty position in New York.

Wow--Danielle--I just got teary looking at your beautiful, powerful painting. You are amazing, and I have just printed off a copy to put into Aidan's scrapbook--as yet another token of Aunt Nell who loves him so much.

I love the painting and I love how it represents "reinvent." Before it even got to Aiden, I knew what the picture was going to be. That's how good it is.
