This is a video I found on www.ted.com, by Johanna Blackley. In it she talks about how the social media is going to bring an end to assumptions people make on gender. Until I listened to this video I would have disagreed, pointing out that the increase in societal contact only decreases the privacy each person has. She raises a good point however that online people are very difficult to judge because you cannot see the person and therefore cannot identify them on how they appear. I disagree tho that demographical media will go away anytime soon. Just because the media is learning that not all women like chick flicks they are also finding that other people from different demographics like them. The general media landscape wont change because it will still be making a profit.
