Former Fairbault teacher accused of molesting students

An ex-teacher from Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Fairbault was charged on Monday with sexual misconduct involving six students from 1996 through 2003, the Star Tribune reported.

Former teacher Lynn Seibel, 70, was charged with 17 counts, including second-degree criminal sexual conduct, soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct, and using a minor in a sexual performance, the Star Tribune reported.

The incidents allegedly involved boys ages 15 to 18 in school class rooms and dormitories, the Daily Journal reported.

Authorities say Seibel was fired from his position at the prep school after child pornography was found on his computer in 2003, the Daily Journal reported. Police were never informed and he was never charged.

The school said they were aware of the allegations back in 2001 and investigated the situation and is now cooperating with the police, the Star Tribune reported.
