I thought that it was very interesting to find out that perception is our brain's way of interpreting things that our senses pick up about the world that is going on around us. Perception lets us as humans to use our senses to create a meaningful explanation about what our world is like and what is happening in our world. Perceptions, contrary to popular belief, are not what is actually happening but instead what we think is happening and what makes the most sense to us. This happens when we see a few things happen but our brain tells us that much more is happening to fill in the gaps without us even realizing it. In other words, we mix the real with the imaginary in order to create a more easily understandable explanation. I think this is the most interesting topic that we have discussed thus far in psychology because we do not even realize what our brains are doing in order to help us make order out of disorder.
