121 arrested in child porn case

Spanish police arrested 121 people in the biggest operation against internet child pornography in the country.

The pornography network spanned 75 countries and authorities are investigating another 96 Spanish people.

CNN reports that officers confiscated images of children in sexual positions and even some depicting rape.

CNN.com reports that two of the men arrested used their nephews who are under 10-years-old. BBC reports that police say that two of the men used their children in the pornography.

The raid lasted a week and around 800 officers raided over 200 homes.

Brazilian Police assisted in the raids and the BBC reports that the operation began in July.

It was reported that those detained were school janitors, bank clerks, commercial pilots, taxi drivers, foreigners resident in Spain. CNN reports that four of the arrested were under the age of 18.

CNN reports that if convicted, the suspects could face up to eight years in prison.

BBC reports that this large raid boosts the number of people arrested in Spain for child pornography up to 1,200 in the last five years.
