...us! Yes, the rain continues here in Madrid and we are quite tired of being soggy -- happy but soggy. Then again, from the weather reports we are able to see about Minnesota, we really can´t complain. Hopefully the cold weather back home will dissipate when we arrive as we might just bring the rain back with us.
We arrived safely last evening in the last Moor stronghold city of Granada. Until 1482 this city, set in the valley of the Sierra Nevada mountains, was under Sultan rule.
Greetings again from the fourth largest city in Spain. Seville, (pronounced seh-vee-ah) the romantic setting for over 15 operas was on the docket. The morning included a three hour tour (now what theme song do you have running through your head?). We started under the grey skies and a little drizzle at the hemisphere shaped plaza created for the 1920 World Expo shortly after the turn of the century. This same building was used as the backdrop for George Lucas' Star Wars Episode Two as the palace of Naboo. Connecting the old to something futuristic seemed to amuse the students.

Sorry it has taken a little while to get to a computer. The days have been packed with air and bus travel, site seeing and singing. Yes, as soon as the last group arrived in Madrid it was off to Toledo for a quick stop at the hotel and a night time concert.
The choirs are almost ready to take off for Spain. On Friday, students will gather at MSP and settle in for their flights to Spain. Toledo, Seville, Granada and Madrid await.

Bel Canto has returned from a fabulous west coast swing (or is that sing?). The women enjoyed sun, surf and song in one of the most picturesque cities in the country.
