Powell endorses Obama
Gen. Colin Powell endorsed presidential candidate Barack Obama on Sunday according to the Denver Post.
Powell said that Republican Sen. John McCain's running mate choice was a rightward migration of the Republican Party.
Powell also stressed the nation's need for a "transformative figure."
Both were reasons for him endorsing Obama.
The New York Times reported Powell announced Obama had gained an immense financial edge over Sen. John McCain.
“He is a new generation coming into the world, onto the world stage,� Powell said.
