Solution whe Write and Cite III asks for group code and then rejects it

Just to post this note from Steve Irons for reference, in case we get questions from patrons with a similar problem...

"Over the last week or so, I have come across a few staff computers
where Write-n-Cite III has suddenly decided not to recognize the
computer and asks for a group code. However, when our group code is
entered, it is rejected and the user cannot connect.

I am not sure why this is happening, since all the settings on the
computer appear to be correct. The solution to the problem is to
simply uninstall and reinstall the application."

This problem has been reported many times before from patrons. There's a blog posting about the fix at:

Sweet - thanks for the reminder! So, the complete fix is basically reinstalling and then adding a proxy setting. If Steve was able to do it without the proxy step, maybe we can recommend that first for simplicity, and if it doesn't work, take the final step of adding the proxy. Thanks Lisa!
