ACES 5-7-08

I went today because there was no program on Monday and I needed to finish up my hours. I was still with the same age group but with a different section of kids. This was good because I continued to give the end of the year surveys. I called each student out to complete the survey. This took all of the homework and curriculum time and after that I supervised the gym time, which was highlighted by a tumbling competition. Some of the students could do multiple backflips in a row. A good example to define my time at Cityview, the students never cease to amaze me and teach me, sometimes more than I teach them.

Goal 3

I think that this group did a very good job at presenting their project. The pictures were fantastic and I though they did a great job to represent what the group was discussing. Although the background was very in depth I think that time should have been spent on just the background that applied to the women. I liked that the project was specifically in the area of education and that it was very well thought out but maybe mention other areas that have or could help women. All in all a very good project.

Technology

I feel that the human race is evolving continuously. This evolution is not taking place physically or genetically as it has in the past. We are evolving mentally and through technology. This allows human kind to continue to grow exponentially as it has. This has created some surprising and interesting developments in the field of technology. The readings and the lectures have mention some such as: visual reality, walls that move and change, new buildings, and the miniaturization of technology. There are also some developments that I have found to be quite interesting.

ACES Cityview 4-28-08

I spent most of my time with ACES giving the students individual surveys about there experience with the program, in particular how it has helped them in school and in social life. Some of the answers were very interesting. The curriculum for the day delt with food chains and food webs. We set out different pictures of animals and arrows for the student to set up their own food chains. I feel like the kids learn alot from the hands on applications the program does for their lessons.
