I found this advertisement to be particularly interesting. Instead of the advertiser trying to sell the product, the advertiser is instead trying to make the onlooker not buy the product, meat. By comparing a human to an animal the onlooker gets a sense of disturbance. I know when I first came across this advertisement I felt a little on uneasy about what I was looking at. I understood that it was a protest to reduce the amount of meat that is consumed in our everyday lives but I thought how strange for these advertisers to be using humans to do so. To some people this could almost seem a bit dramatic but nonetheless the point has definitely been proven. The point being, why is it okay to eat innocent animals but not okay to eat innocent people? Seems kind of ridiculous when said out loud but the advertisement is making a strong connection between humans and animals. We both are living organisms so connecting the two to make a bold statement is there. This advertisement instantly grabs the onlooker's attention and instantly makes the onlooker think. Although it is strange, it does an excellent job of getting its point across and making it known how the advertiser feels about this particular subject.

This advertisement is really an eye catcher, and it is true that we should reduce the meat we consume, but I disagree about the question about eating innocent animals vs innocent humans. Eating animals is part of the food chain. If humans eating animals is not allowed, then are we suppose to stop other animals from eating other preys too, since the predators are eating innocent animals without their consent?
I think this advertisement is extremely strange and alarming; however it does make a statement. Personally I think it's hard to convince people that animals and humans are so similar. Yes, we are both living creatures but our environments are very different. Personally this advertisement did not convince me to reduce the amount of meat I eat on a daily basis. On the other hand, it did make me stop and think about the topic.
I can see that the advertisement is trying to stimulate a response of disgust by pairing a "dead" human and the controversial topics of animal abuse and meat consumption. The overall goal of the advertisement is to connect the disgust showed towards a dead human to dead animal used for food. Being a hunter myself, I obviously share a polar opposite view on the issue of animal rights and meat consumption. I agree with leex5770, humans are naturally predators and are also on the top of the food chain, therefore eating meat is a natural impulse or instinct.
I agree, this advertisement is appalling at first glance because in order to get our attention and become an involved reader of the advertisement, they had to somewhat threaten our own thoughts by including one of our own (a human) as the meat. In my opinion, although this is a strong advertisement, there is not anything that would make society sit down, come together, and agree that our killing of other living organisms is not okay. Of course it is a bit disturbing at first, but at the end of the day people will say that we do what we can to enjoy our life, including our food, just like any other human, or organisms would be perceived to do.
I definitely agree with the fact that this advertisement is extremely attention grabbing. The advertisers have gotten their point across that meat is not something that should be eaten. Using this profound way to attract the attention of viewers, the advertisers have attempted to create an image in our head of a person being eaten whenever we think about or actually eat animal meat. Over all it is an excellent advertisement.
At first I found this add to be a bit disturbing, but it definitely catches your attention and gets you to think about what the purpose for the advertisement is. It is very bold and sends a strong message to the viewer.
This advertisement grabbed my attention right away, yet made me want to look away at the same time. The advertisers did a good job of connecting the viewer to the protest emotionally. Although, I did not think of an animal right away when I saw this. This is a very strong advertisement and definitely pulls at your heart strings, but it is not the most effective for their cause.
This caught my attention immediately, but at the same time it made me want to close my eyes. Those gangstas did a fairly decent job of creating sensitivity towards their cause. Good work, nice sentences.
I agree that this picture/ad does a very good job of grabbing the attention of people. I also agree with your comparrison between it and packaged animals. When looking at this though it doesn't make me want to not eat animals however. The commercials that PETA has does a lot better job of that in my opinion.
