If there is one thing that I have learned in Psych that will stay with me, it is personality and the "Big 5 Model" in particular. It is amazing how different every individual is, and being able to understand personality gives us a better grasp of who a person is. I think being able to read people and being able to understand a person's personality is a necessity in life. When meeting new people, I realized that I now think back to the Big 5 Model and try to figure out peoples levels of things like extraversion and agreeableness. Without the understanding of personality how would we understand who a good potential friend or partner may be? We size people up everyday, and being able to read people is extremely important, especially in many careers. In any sales job, the ability to figure out the customer is vital. Personality is something that is such an important part of a person and I think that this concept is something that I will carry with me for a long time.

I also found this topic interesting. I thought it was interesting how there are five basic categories that we can base personality after. Many times though people are unaware of parts of their personalities so I think it could be hard to judge this exactly. I think personalities are extremely important because in order to be well rounded person and succeed in many things we need to be able to interact and learn about other personalities. We are not going to be around people with our own personality all the time so being aware and knowing about personalities is really important.
I found the subtopic in personality, five basic categories of personality, to be very interesting. I find it true that the categories have very influential parts in the creation of ones personality.
It is definitely true that personality is crucial and may have great effects on different aspects of a person's life. Big Five is very useful to categorize person's personality and it is fun to know how versatility "personality" can be defined.
Before I enrolled in Psychology I evaluated people's personalities solely on the basis of instinct. Now I apply the Big 5 to almost everyone I meet, almost just for fun. I feel like if I take anything from Psychology it will be the ability to know people and predict their behavior better.
