As we have learned, adrenaline boosts energy production in muscle cells and is created in the adrenal glands- a major endocrine gland of the body. What we didn't learn is that some people strive for an addiction to this hormone that our body naturally produces in dangerous situations.
Insane. Impossible. Fun?
To these thrill-seekers this daredevil sport is a sure sign of a great time. Once base jumping wasn't enough adrenaline junkies turned to this suit to fulfill their crave that gets the heart bumping and the blood flowing. Similar to drug addicts, however, it takes more and more of the same supply to get the same high. Once the body recognizes it's not as in as much danger, adrenaline ceases to be released. And getting as close as they did without touching the mountain makes me wonder where they could possibly turn to next in order to get the same high.
I think I'll stick to my occasional scary movie to get my heart bumping. But if life ever gets boring for you, strap up the wingsuit, get that adrenaline flowing, and jump off something tall!
