Monmonier gives third annual Borchert Lecture

MarkMonmonier_2008_rx.JPGAs part of GIS Day and Geography Awareness Week activities on the UMN Twin Cities campus, Dr. Mark Monmonier gave the third annual Borchert Lecture on Friday, November 20th. This lecture honors the late John Borchert, University of Minnesota Regents Professor in Geography and member of the U.S. National Academy of Science. Dr. Monmonier, Distinguished Professor of Geography at Syracuse University and recent recipient of the German Cartographic Society's Mercator Medal, lectured on, "Coastlines, Boundary Lines, and the Cartographies of Protection and Control," in Cowles Auditorium, Humphrey Center, West Bank campus.
