8:30 a.m. - Registration
9 a.m. - DIY Garden Art - Let designer Eric Johnson teach you how to create art for your garden that's handmade, beautiful and not too expensive. Eric will demonstrate a project you can try at home.
10 a.m. - Growing & Preserving Herbs - Herbs add fragrance to the garden and taste to food. Dakota County Master Gardener Shari Mayer will offer insight into growing the herbs you love and preserving them for use all year.
12:30 p.m. - Bees, Fruit and a Few Surprises - University of Minnesota Extension Educator Karl Foord will give us the low-down on pollination and bees in this two-part talk. First, Karl will explain the relationship between bees and fruit. You may be surprised what is actually pollinating your apples, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.
After a short break, Karl will talk more about the crisis facing honeybees and native bees. He'll discuss possible causes and some solutions. The solutions, Karl says, are guaranteed to please gardeners.
