Gray sky, streak of light in the west, breeze from the northwest. Hundreds of gulls on the shelf of thin ice off the southeastern shore, rising in two flocks and returning. Hundreds of mallards along the southwest shore, some far out. A dozen and a half coots off the northern shore. One fishing boat on the water. Paths busy with walkers and joggers.

Clear blue sky, bright sunlight towards sunset; slight breeze from the northwest. The wooden and the plastic docks now at anchor offshore. One fisherman in the water off the southwest inlet. A few mallards there; hundreds of coots scattered close to the western shore; scores of gulls in a bright pod in the center of the lake. A few runners and pedestrians.

Blue sky with vague cloud fringe, light breeze from the northwest. Canoe on the water, fishermen on the southwest dock and on shore near the band shell. Coots scattered in groups in the southwest and northeast. Mallards around the southwest inlet include brown domestic duck with iridescent green mallard head and triangular white bib. Not many pedestrians, mostly walking dogs.

Blue sky, hardly a cloud, calm; partial eclipse of the sun reflected off the flat mirror of the lake. Warm, tempered sunlight brightening the fading fall colors along the shore. Red kayak and a rowboat far off the northern shore. Hundreds of bright white gulls in the center of the lake; scores of black coots along the southwest shore. Scores of bicycles, many photographers.

Hundreds of coots spaced out along the lee side of the lake. Two fishermen seated on the southern shore; one fishing boat on the lake. Gull in the southwest inlet.

Another large group of coots farther north; more than half a dozen grebes farther out, farther north. A few sailboats still riding at anchor; one being beached at the ramp.

Cloudless at sunset, light breeze from the south. One sailboat on the water; three fishing boats and a fishing canoe; two fishermen on the short dock off the northeastern shore. A dozen or more pied-bill grebes widely spaced along the southern and western shores; a hundred or more coots around the southwest inlet; mallards too. Pink and lavender afterglow reflected in the water along the eastern shore.

Shifting sheets of cloud revealing bright evening sunlight, blue sky. White sloop sailing along the western shore; two fishing boats on the water; six fishermen on the southwest dock. More than a hundred coots around the southwest cove. Several grebes diving off the western shore; wood duck drake closer to shore. Hundreds of white gulls clustered in the middle of the lake. Puffs of milkweed seeds in the northeast marsh; tall stands of purple asters.

Breeze from the west, clouds clearing away, blue sky, sunlight from the west brightening the eastern shore, the sailboats still at anchor along the western shore, and hundreds of white gulls in the middle of the lake. One canoe with two paddlers, one fishing boat, one fisherman wading off the shore, one swimmer crossing the middle of the lake in a wet suit on a paddle board, back and forth. Dozens of coots around the southwest inlet. A few fleeting glimpses of warblers near the shore.
