Sunny, clumpy cumulus couds, cold breeze from the north; inch of fresh snow on the ground. Waves broke up the ice shelf along the SW shore, returning the many mallards and coots to the water.fThe geese are gone; however, a large A of geese flew high overhead from west of the lake, and then disappeared south. Hundreds of people in funny hats on the paths, left over from the Linden Hills UCC Reindeer Run, headquartered in a large tent near the band shell.

Streaking clouds, otherwise sunny; light breeze from SSW. New ice shelving out from shoreline E and S. A score of geese and many dozens of mallards are mostly huddled on the edge of the ice at SW; some patrol the water nearby, joined by a score of more active coots. A few nuthatches flit among the trees along the path, and a downy woodpecker is at work.
