Cumulostratus cover, some thin sunlight shining through. Breeze from north; cool. Some foam and litter along the southern shore. A few mallards and one horned grebe. A dozen buffleheads clustered and diving near the west shore; more malllards and the occasional gull. More horned grebes and several pied-billed grebes towards the middle of the lake and near the northwestern shore. Song sparrows loud in the trees and brush along the shore. Very large loon near the northwest; another, not so large, to the northeast, thrashing the water and doing an elaborate display; a third near the east. Calls of blackbirds, cardinals, and robins from the marsh. A large pod of coots, maybe fifty, near the eastern shore. A few mallards paddling in the creek. The water level low in both the lake and the creek, but the creek still flowing.
