Low clouds, drizzle; gray and green, with some red and yellow in the trees. Chilly breeze from the southeast. Several dozen coots near the southeastern shore, a few of them even standing about in the shallows. The usual mallards, but not many. Dozens of yellow-rumped warblers flitting among the brush on the southern shore. Three geese snacking on the grass on the western shore. Blackbirds calling from the marsh. A crow, a cardinal, more warblers, a downy or hairy woodpecker. Some water standing in the drainage marsh on the northeastern shore; a few blue violets blooming mearby; pale yellow-violet violets blooming along the creek. Not many people; planes low and nosy.
