Light breeze from the southwest; high, flat cumulus clouds, much sun. A few mallards along the southern shore. Algae forming small floating mats close to shore, mixed with floating detritus. A fisherman in a metal boat with a small engine. A few swallows swooping around the northern shore. Blackbird loud in a tree, grackle poking along the shore. Two men in a canoe. Two mallards and a turtle rest on a downed willow branch jutting out into the water. Some weak vegetation along the creek shows stress from the lack of rain. Two good stands of an unfamiliar wildflower, multiple small white blossoms with yellow centers held high by thin stalks, which bear arrow-shaped leaves below.
