Well-defined cumulostratus covers the sky; cool breeze from northwest. A few coots and mallards near the south shore. Many swallows skim the water farther to the west. Two geese stand in the shallows near the busy fishing dock. A flotilla of sailboats runs its course. House sparrows harvest popcorn near the band shell. A half dozen grackles poke around the drainage marsh on the northeast shore, tossing up dried leaves.
