Breeze from the northwest, scattered cumulus clouds fading away. Beaches and paths busy; sailboats and canoes on the water. Mallards and ducklings along the south and west shores, joined by geese being seeking handouts of popcorn near the band shell; a large audience for the Minneapolis Pops concert: Semper Fideles. Abundant, almost pervasive sweet clover nearing the end of its bloom, along with a few evening primroses. Some milkweed still blooming. Violet bee balm in the drainage area at the northeast. Black-eyed Susan in bloom. The strip between the road and the path along the western shore is now an anthology of wild flowers. A few puddles in the creek bed, infringed more and more by green plants.
