Chimeras

What

A monocot chimera

Where

In my garden

So What

This is a WGG chimera. Because it is a monocot the leaf margin is affected by a mutation of the first tunica layer. The first layer of this plant mutated to leave it mostly devoid of chlorophyll. The second layer was unmutated and remained a chlorophyll filled green.

What

A chimeric houseplant.

Where

In my kitchen window.

So What

I believe that this house plant has a mutation at the corpus level.
Third layer mutations tend to result in irregular mutation. The leaves on this plant are verriegated irregularly on some leaves and not at all on others, which leads me to conclude that it is a sectorial chimera.
