Week 3 Photo Assignment: Seed Dispersal in Space 2
These acorns are from an oak tree also outside my apartment. I chose these because they represent another example of seed dispersal in space: in this case, by animal digestion. Squirrels nibbling on acorns is not an uncommon sight, and through the digestion process these seeds can be carried to environments where it is possible for them to germinate.
