Minnesotan man dies in Iraq bomb blast--By: Hannah Mikels

A 25-year-old Coon Rapids soldier died Monday in Iraq, according to kare11.com.
The Defense Department said Army soldier Sgt. William J. Beardsley was killed when a when a IED exploded near his vehicle in Diwaniyah, according to wcco.com.
He was assigned to the 260th Quartermaster Battalion, 3rd Sustainment Troop Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division of Fort Stewart, Ga., according to startribune.com.
Beardsley is the 52nd person with strong Minnesota ties to die in connection with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to kare11.com.
