A Brazilian housewife was convicted and sentenced to 19 years in prison Friday for killing her husband, chopping him into peices, and frying him up, according to wcco.com.
Rosanita Nery dos Santos, 52, drugged her husbad, Jose Raimundo Soares dos Santos, in his sleep and then stabbed him to death two years ago in Salvador, according to wcco.com.
Shen then cut his body into more than 100 pieces, boiled the pieces and fried them before putting them in plastic bags and hiding them under the staircase in their house, according to the Houston Chronicle.
An anonymous phone call led police to the body, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The killing was believed to be either a part of a black magic ritual or an attempt by the wife to collect $34,000 worth of life insurance, according to CNN.
Santos denied killing her husbad but admitted to chopping up his body, claiming intruders murdered her husband and forced her to chop and fry the pieces, according to CNN.
