Northern State Recap

Chris Samp solidified his case for the Heisman Trophy on Saturday afternoon with a superlative performance against Northern State University. At the end of the day, Samp had racked up nine catches for 180 yards, and four (4!) touchdowns. Watching Samp play football at this point reminds me of watching Mike Novotny play hockey against sixth graders when he was a senior in high school. His numbers are ludicrous. I am proposing the new nickname "Tecmo Bowl" because his stats are like something out of a videogame.

A recent comment pointed out that Samp might not put up the same numbers for a D1 team. I tend to agree. At a D1 school, Samp would have numbers that are merely astounding, as opposed to being godlike as they are currently. Posted by mill1991 at October 18, 2004 11:06 AM | TrackBack

Hey Samp's bro

I am a writer for the Winona N, wan't saying anything bad about your brother. I was merely saying that this web site is amazingly exaggerated. So calm down. GO WARRIORS!

Ian...you are stupid. Not to mention your writing is horrible. Go Samp!

Okay, just to clarify - this is a Pro-Chris Samp website, not an Anti-Ian website. If you are going to make fun of Ian, your jests must contain as much ridiculous hyperbole as possible so that it fits in with the theme of this site.

I can attest to Mike Novotny playing against sixth graders. I once played goalie against him in my driveway when I was a 7th grader and he was a senior in high school. He was amazing and could not be stopped. That day actually stopped my enthusiasm for street hockey and I haven't played since. If this is what Samp is truly doing, he does deserve the Heisman. Go Samp GO
