Oxford Index - A Search and Discovery Gateway

from Oxford University Press

A free search portal, the Oxford Index allows users to search and discover connections between content - including reference entries, monographs, journal articles, and books--and access summaries of high quality academic material.

For the first time, users can search across resources from Oxford and its partners with just one click, and discover relevant content along the way. The Oxford Index also serves as a single hub for all Oxford metadata, now standardized under a sophisticated subject taxonomy. By providing the same robust metadata to third-party discovery services and search engines we are able to provide a single hub for Oxford content however your users choose to find it.

After a new series of updates in March, the Oxford Index now includes standardized metadata from a dozen additional Oxford resources, from Grove Art to University Press Scholarship Online, alongside a host of new functionality, including the ability to filter results by full-text availability, library branding, OpenURL, and additional pathways into full-text content. Over the coming months, we will continue to add hundreds of thousands of new items of content and new functionality, including content from other acclaimed Oxford resources, expanded links to related content, and at-a-glance topical Overview Pages.

As the Oxford Index continues to evolve in direct response to user and librarian feedback, we invite you to share your comments and suggestions at oxfordindex@oup.com.

We hope that you continue to enjoy exploring the Oxford Index, and look forward to your feedback.
