Our new Britannica Online Academic Edition is now live. The response to the new, more engaging interface and enhanced search and discovery has been positive.

However, a number of our subscribers using EZProxy are experiencing difficulties. While we allow remote users to search our database through proxy server, we cannot at this time certify all functionality of the Britannica Online Academic Edition through the EZProxy proxy servers. With the release of the new version of Britannica Online Academic Edition, we highly recommend incorporating "settings" listed below into your current EZProxy configuration file (config.txt). Once you have updated your configuration file, restart EZProxy to make the change take effect. Then test to see whether or not the issue is resolved.

EBSCO has informed us that everything should be fixed later today. It appears that access has been restored to about half of the EBSCO ELM databases; however, sites will still have some dead links as EBSCO's system continues to update. EBSCO has fixed the problem that caused the break in access, but it is taking longer than they anticipated to update the over 1200 affected sites.

We understand that some institutions in the Minitex region are experiencing difficulties when trying to access the EBSCO ELM databases. We are working to restore access to these databases as quickly as possible.

EBSCO is pleased to announce that an array of Health Daily videos has been added to Consumer Health Complete.

They have added 2,286 Health Daily videos from NBC Digital Health Network to the Medical Video & Animation Collection, which is part of Consumer Health Complete. The videos are available on both interfaces that support the database: the CHC interface and EBSCOhost.

The Health Daily feed provides health/wellness, lifestyle and condition-specific news clips with an average length of 1.5 minutes. Each week NBC adds from 40-50 new, broadcast-quality clips. This brings the total of videos and animations currently available on Consumer Health Complete to 3,379.
